'Let's play: who's in my mouth' - Caroline Beck

Yesterday began with a trip to Alice's Tea Cup for brunch!

Indian Chai Tea - yum!

The place was adorable, the food was delicious, and we are still enjoying the scones today!
Definitely a place to take guests  -- get excited my out of town friends!

During our outing, I also discovered a delightful little candy: Iced Tea Candy, which unbelievably tastes like a sweet tea in my mouth.

After an afternoon of reading for school, Jac and I trekked to Brooklyn for dinner and True Blood at Austin and Damara's place!  Just like before, Damara's cooking is PHENOMENAL
Shut up.  Eggplant with a delicious cheese bread, and an amazing little tomato/corn/bacon/awesome salad

As for True Blood, although I've only seen two episodes in my life, I'm starting to catch on.  However, the show is crap -- but I really can't judge: I watch Gossip Girl.
The show seems to be a bit raunchy.  Lot's of sex, naked bodies, and blood.  Not necessarily in that order.  The commentary is always fun when you have Jac and her sister Caroline in a room together;

Today, Jac and I locked ourselves in the apartment to get a lot of reading done.  I'm writing this entry as a break from it, because I'm kinda going crazy.  I like to read by the window because the sunshine today is beautiful.

I scrubbed my new shoes with Dr. Marten's wax sealer, and they destroyed them.  They are now in the window with hopes to dry them out and return them to their original beautiful-ness
Dark brown sadness
What they looked like when they were new...

Also, I like peeking out every once in awhile to see what the neighborhood is up to
I looked out right when he was pushing the cart 5 feet ahead of him so he could light his cigarette.  Here he is, checking his facebook status on his phone.  And yes, he isn't wearing his shirt, it's draped over the mail carrier.  He's wearing a baseball jersey.  Awesome.

And I made a delicious Tortellini Soup!
So good, and these are leftover's I'll eat!

My third time at the Met, the end of Mom's trip & a Broadway show

Oh, Yeah!

Catching up on the last few days...
On Thursday,
we took Mom by Sotheby's Institute of Art so she could see the institute and library!

After visiting 51st and Lex, we walked over to Tiffany & Co. to pick up Mom's improved necklace
Jac and I stopped on the diamond floor after customer service...
and I did not buy anything.

From there it was just a short walk over to the Museum of Modern Art

Friday night was Mom's last night in the city, so we decided to end it with a bang.  We went to see Catch Me If You Can on Broadway!

Although I hate to admit it, I enjoy watching Gossip Girl.  So, much to my enjoyment when receiving my playbill and seeing that cast as Frank Abagnale, Jr. is Aaron Tveit:

Aaron Tveit as Tripp Van der Bilt on Gossip Girl

The show was amazing!  I recommend seeing it, however, in my searches for the images and video below, I found news that the show is closing on September 4th!

So, here is a snippet of a performance (from the 2011 Tony Awards) of Aaron Tveit and Norbert Leo Butz

Norbert Leo Butz took home the Best Actor in a Musical Tony Award this year for Catch Me If You Can. Read more about it: here
Here's a video of the real Frank Abagnale, Jr. talking about the musical and life after
