you haven't heard from me? I'm probably reading...

Dear blog readers,
As much as I can, I will post about the artists, artworks, and events that I attend.  However, I cannot blog about everything due to a myriad of reasons; mostly because copyrights and personal property, imagery, and intellect.  Also, I am overwhelmed by the amount of reading and preparing I must do for my studies...

I know, so lame of me, right?!
BUT I will do my best to share what I can

At the end of the week, we enjoyed a slice of Italian fun at the San Gennaro Festival

About the festival: The 85th Annual Feast of San Gennaro, New York City’s longest-running, biggest and most revered religious outdoor festival in the United States, will be held Thursday, September 15, through Sunday, the 25th, on the streets of historic Little Italy, the lower Manhattan neighborhood which served as the first home in America for hundreds of thousands of Italian immigrants who came here seeking to improve their lives beginning in the early part of the 20th century.
Presented annually since 1996 by Figli di San Gennaro, Inc., the 11-day event features religious processions and colorful parades, free musical entertainment every day, a wide variety of ethnic food delicacies, charming restaurants and cafes and even a world-famous cannoli-eating competition!

baby cannoli!
This weekend brought cold weather to New York.  People are walking around in fall gear trying to be happy in the days of autumn before winter hits us in the face.  Unfortunately, the cold weather brought achy sore throats, and I fell victim to 'not feeling too hot'.  I spent the majority of the weekend taking it easy and recuperating.

However, this week my roomie is in Boston, so while she's gone, she left me with a friend...
...some awesome chai latte ice cream!
Well if that don't warm the spirits!!
